A Little Friend

This little blue jay fledgling appeared outside of our window a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, the next day he ended up on our concrete front porch and I think got too hot and stressed there : ( I did get to see one neat thing, other than this cutie, though. I first noticed him because of his parents flying around the yard. When I saw him on the ground, I was worried, since our neighbour's cat roams loose. I didn't need to worry, though. A little while later, a flurry of birds caught my eye. Just as I feared, the cat was in our yard, but he was being chased out, not only by this little guy's parents, but by 2 male cardinals, a male towhee, and 2

male house finches. Those birds hung around for several hours.
